What this is built on, and how it behaves.
Two sets of documents. The principles argue a position about money and state their numbers honestly, including the ones that soften the argument. The guides describe how each part of the app behaves, what it refuses to do, and where its figures stop being certain.
The principles
Read in order they make one argument. Read alone each one still stands, and each one names what it costs you as well as what it claims.
- Own what no issuer controlsThe preference every published model inherits, stated as a worldview rather than a measurement, with what it costs and the counter-example it does not hide.
- Debasement, measured honestlyTwo numbers that are never merged: money-supply growth and measured consumer prices. What cash actually did, and the figure this product will not use.
- The reserve, and what it costsCash held on purpose, with a written job — and the premium you pay for it every single year, named rather than buried in a footnote.
- The ladder is insurance, not alphaBuying declines does not beat staying invested: perfect foresight still loses about 70% of the time. What a pre-committed ladder is actually for.
- One plan, one instruction a monthThe one mechanism with randomised-trial evidence behind it, the shape of a month, and the part of this loop that is still unproven.
- Holding your own keysWhy a portfolio product has an opinion about custody, how to hold keys without losing them, and what this product will never ask you for.
The app guides
Written against the product rather than around it, because a tool that measures your money should be legible before you trust it with anything.
- Getting startedHow invites work, the three ways to put a portfolio into Bitnora, forking the demo book, and what the dashboard shows you on day one.
- Paper tradingVirtual cash that behaves like real cash: live-quote fills, fractional shares, and the four reasons a paper trade is refused outright.
- IBKR importSet up one read-only Interactive Brokers Flex query, import positions and activity, rebuild a year of history, and reconcile against the broker.
- AI portfolio reviewsWhat a review covers, how to run one, why it is capped per day, and why the caveats list is the part of the report we care most about.
- Targets and rebalancingWrite the portfolio down as target weights, watch the real one drift, and turn the gap into an order sheet you take to your broker.
- Dividend incomeWhere the income figures come from, what trailing-twelve-month and year-to-date measure, how the forward calendar is built, and where withholding appears.
The models these principles produce are published in full, identical for every visitor, each with its own worst year printed on it.
